Natalia Silva Becomes UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion at UFC 332

Natalia Silva has officially reached the top of the UFC women’s flyweight division. The Brazilian defeated Wang Cong by unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 332 on October 3, 2026, at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, to become the new undisputed UFC women’s flyweight champion.

The judges scored the five-round fight 48-47, 48-47 and 49-46, all in favor of Natalia Silva.

Natalia Silva vs Wang Cong: UFC 332 Main Event

The highly anticipated Natalia Silva vs Wang Cong fight was contested for the vacant UFC women’s flyweight title. The championship became available after former champion Valentina Shevchenko vacated the belt while sidelined with injuries.

Going into the fight, Natalia Silva had built one of the strongest winning streaks in the division. Her speed, movement and striking accuracy made her a difficult matchup for Wang, who entered the contest on a four-fight UFC winning streak.

From the opening round, Silva used movement and combinations to control the distance. Rather than standing directly in front of Wang, she constantly changed angles and attacked with punches and kicks.

Natalia Silva’s Head Kick Changes the Fight

One of the biggest moments came in the second round when Natalia Silva landed a sharp head kick that rattled Wang and briefly put her on the canvas.

Silva continued to rely on her speed and varied kicking attacks throughout the middle rounds. Wang attempted to pressure forward, but Silva’s ability to move in and out of range made it difficult for her to establish consistent offense.

Wang did not give up. She increased her aggression in the final round and attempted to turn the fight around with heavier combinations. However, Silva had already done enough across the earlier rounds to secure the judges’ decision.

Natalia Silva Wins the UFC Flyweight Title

The final scorecards confirmed Natalia Silva as the UFC women’s flyweight champion.

The victory extends Silva’s remarkable unbeaten run and adds the biggest achievement of her UFC career. Her recent résumé already included victories over former UFC champions, including Rose Namajunas, Alexa Grasso and Jessica Andrade.

After the decision was announced, Silva celebrated becoming the new champion and declared herself the new queen of the division.

Her victory also establishes a fresh chapter for the UFC women’s flyweight division following Shevchenko’s reign.

What’s Next for Natalia Silva?

The biggest question following UFC 332 is who will challenge Natalia Silva for the championship next.

A potential storyline is a fight against former champion Valentina Shevchenko once she returns from injury. Silva has now captured the belt that Shevchenko previously held, making a future championship matchup between the two one of the most intriguing possibilities in the division.

For now, however, Natalia Silva can celebrate a career-defining victory.

The Brazilian has gone from highly regarded contender to UFC champion, and her performance against Wang Cong proved that her speed, precision and adaptability can carry her to the very top of the division.
